Aska is a Helsinki-based fashion house living in the space between disappearance and becoming. Derived from the Swedish word for dust and ashes, the brand translates pure geometry into weightless, anatomical architecture. SHIO was commissioned to codify this tension, building a creative foundation that lives in the friction between absolute presence and total absence.

The launch campaign holds frozen stillness against sudden fractured movement, light diffused as if through smoke. The logotype never quite resolves. Mixed case, part calligraphic, part archival. That's the point.


Monospaced typewriter type runs through the system as a cold, clinical counterpoint to the organic imagery it accompanies. The grid is built from overlapping geometric constructions, circular arcs cutting across image layouts, performing the same dissolution the brand is named after.


Campaign photography is grainy, high-contrast, strictly monochrome. Ash and dust textures layered over fragmented bodies. Light that looks like it's already leaving.

Garments are numbered like archival documents. Collection labels carry roman numerals, the identity treating each piece as something worth cataloguing before it disappears. The digital world carries this same logic: slow bleed transitions, expansive negative space, interfaces that resist urgency.


The feeling of staying inside a world rather than moving through it.
