THE BEAM

DIVERGENCE is an outdoor installation commissioned for the opening of Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab, deployed from the elevated rooftop of the experimental Brick Circle architecture. High powered RGB laser control systems project immense beams directly into the sky, converging at a single point before diffusing outward across the nocturnal landscape. The airspace becomes the canvas. The surrounding urban environment is reframed entirely by light.

Black steel structural fabrication positions each beam with precision, the engineering exposed and intentional. The lasers slice through clouds and tree canopies, reaching a vertical projection vector of 300000cm. Visible from across the city. The work doesn't occupy a gallery or a room. It occupies the atmosphere itself, transforming the nocturnal character of everything around it.
