PERMANENCE: Contrasting constructed form with the inevitable decay of organic presence

( Interactive Installation, Immersive Experiences, Creative Direction, Art Direction )

This project functions as an exploration of how human systems attempt to shape nature and memory through architecture and technology. It examines how those forms inevitably shift, fracture, and dissolve over time.

Using two symbolic elements—a fractured monument and a suspended natural remnant—the installation contrasts constructed form with organic presence. The enduring against the ephemeral. The recorded against the forgotten.

Rather than treating ruins as endpoints, the work poses a fundamental question: are the structures we build meant to last, or simply to give the illusion of permanence? SHIO developed the creative direction and immersive logic to investigate what remains and what quietly disappears.

The installation utilizes reactive technology to mirror this decay. As viewers interact with the space, the digital and physical structures respond: a study in the friction between human intervention and natural entropy.
