Presented at Sónar+D 2026 in Barcelona, following its debut at Ars Electronica 2023, this ongoing installation draws its core framework from the 1947 Bubble Raft model proposed by Nobel Laureate William Lawrence Bragg, a historic scientific baseline extended into a live spatial media intervention for international digital culture platforms.
The work orchestrates human control alongside the inherent natural order within liquids. A live drawing machine built from a custom bubble module, real-time tracking cameras, an LED matrix panel, and a video display. The system uses the literal properties of crystalline structures as its primary mark-making unit. What emerges is a shifting miniature landscape, held in constant tension between the unyielding logic of natural materials and human computational control.
The installation captures the innumerable structures that organize our material world. Not as phenomena tied to a specific species or era, but as an eternal order hidden within every corner of the environment. Quiet, precise, and physically commanding. It makes the invisible impossible to ignore.
