Solstice Soundworks is a Berlin-based studio shaping ambient compositions and modern sound design. SHIO was commissioned to build a complete brand system: identity, art direction, and web design. Establishing a visual foundation that could hold the weight of the sound itself.
The brand takes its colour from the landscape it records. No palette, just nature. Lichen on volcanic rock, soil, moss, rust. The wordmark sits inside that landscape rather than above it, letterforms cropped at the edges of extreme close up nature photography. Bold, condensed, almost brutalist.
Berlin's GPS coordinates flank the logo on every application, 52.5200° N, 13.4050° E, the location embedded in the identity itself. The type construction is shown as an engineered diagram, mathematical curves plotted across the letterforms like a sound wave on a grid.
Printed matter is structured like a scientific archive: catalogue numbers, barcodes, field reference codes.
The digital platform is a room you enter rather than a site you visit. GPS coordinates as navigation. Field photography as the primary visual language. The interface feels like field notes from somewhere remote. Sound made visible, without explaining itself.
